Focus 2017 MLA Election

Brief report on Interactive Session: 'Focus 2017 MLA Election' at the observance of 1 Year Anniversary of Daily Sit-in-Protest with Coffins at Jantar Mantar on 04th November 2016 (Friday) 6:00 p.m.

🔹Shri Hau Tunglut led the Interactive Session as a Moderator. He introduced the topic to be discussed and announced that a duration of two minutes each is to be given to all active participants. Brief summed-up of the speeches during the interactive session is highlighted as follow:

🔹1). A candidate who focused only about one own riches (for his stomach alone) shouldn't be voted.

🔹2). As people began airing their voices against injustice, corruption and representatives who gave no importance to the people who voted him into power, this time there will be visible CHANGES in Election

🔹3). A candidate who doesn't have any regard for the Tribal Martyrs and Tribal cause should not be voted at all.

🔹4). One who pledges to take the case of the Tribal Martyrs to the Assembly should be voted. Development though we need, it is secondary to the Martyrs.

🔹5). Only those who stands for the people need only to contest in the Election. It's going to be a new election, so we need a fresh start.

🔹6). Only those who are ready to sacrifice themselves for the people and who are willing to be killed and buried, if need be, should be voted.

🔹7). Only ones who know Laws, who can understand Bills and stand up for the Tribal lands should be elected in the Tribal Constituencies.

🔹8). This time we need CHANGE. Listen to and follow your conscience, your inner voice.

🔹9). The sitting MLAs are worthless lot. We should rather vote a boulder than the present MLAs

🔹10). Only those who would give due importance to the 9 Tribal Martyrs and who would fully support and vouched for 6th Schedule should stand up in 2017 MLA Election.

🔹11). Those who are actively involved in the Peoples' Movement, who will truthfully pursue for Development should be given chance. Sitting MLAs should be rejected outright. If good number of intending candidates appear, we should make preliminary screening.

🔹12). This time the People's choice should be supreme. No one should try to go against the public.

🔹13). We must make a lists of our priorities and only the candidates who promise to stand by those lists should be supported. We may approach the philanthropic Organisations to make it happen. The intending Candidates need not reflect development works in their Manifestoes for those are a must and need not be mentioned time and again. Land protection should be emphasised.

🔹14). People should make a list of the Manifestoes for the candidates and who ever is willing to accept them as their Manifestoes should stand as a candidate.

🔹15). Justice for the 9 Tribal Martyrs is the need of the hour. Protection of our Land is an urgent issue. 6th Schedule as the form of our administration is a must. Those who do not involved in the current movement should not be given a chance.
